Telephunken - Shake Your Monkey Remixed - OUT NOW!

The excellent Tremendo label is back once again, not with the renegade master, but with it's head honcho Telephunken's smash hit 'Shake Your Monkey' re-released with a slew of dope remixes.
Busta and Basement Freaks join me on the remix duties, each of us taking the key elements of the original and reworking them in our own styles.

Free Download, a DJ Mix and a track to buy!

The last few installments of my bloggings have been noticeably me-free... and it's been nice to dwell on other people's work for a while.
But, time ticks by and I release more music by the boatload... and since this is my blog, I should probably blog it.

I'm not going to review my new tracks, as that would be self-indulgent even by my standards. All I will say is that I, personally, really like them. And sometimes, in art, all that really matters is the sense of fulfilment from creating pieces that you actually like.

MIXTAPE
A 45 minutes or so mix I forgot I'd recorded at the end of 2011. Pretty much all around 100bpm, some nice glitchy sounds, lots of bass, some classic hip-hop, a bit of turntablism and the first incarnation of Box Rocket's Avalanches remix, which you'll never hear anywhere else.
This is just a bit of fun, don't take it too seriously!

The Allergies' debut single drops

Having graced this page a mere matter of days ago, I'm pleased to announce The Allergies have dropped what can only be described as their first single - a double A-Side featuring tracks 'Big Star' and 'Symphonics'.
Big Star is highly likeable - a swaying arrangement of snatched soul vocals, lush instrumentation and flowing beats.
But it's 'Symphonica' which does it most for me - the punching percussion, deep swirling atmospherics and beautifully eq'd samples that sit snugly on the driving bass line is, to me, reminiscent of classic Fatboy Slim.
All in all a great listening experience with something for the living room and something for the dancefloor. Tidy.

Oh, and it's FREE!
